What does it take to be an Influenzer?

The Influenzers is a group of ambitious, driven health sciences students that aims to fill the interdisciplinary health policy gap at the University of Pittsburgh. Through our educational events, community engagement, and policy initiatives, we want to aid the public in making informed vaccination decisions. During a time such as the COVID-19 pandemic, where our understanding of vaccine safety, efficacy, and production is constantly changing, it becomes easy for people to hear conflicting viewpoints and for myths surrounding vaccinations to become widespread. We, as health sciences students, find ourselves privileged by our formal education in vaccines, and we believe it is our civic duty to bring our knowledge to the diverse communities of Pittsburgh.

The Influenzers is proudly supported by Research!America and the Rita Allen Foundation as the recipients of the 2021 Civic Engagement Microgrant Initiative.
