The Influenzers: an interdisciplinary science policy group within the University of Pittsburgh
The Influenzers interdisciplinary science policy group aims to educate the Pittsburgh community about facts and myths surrounding immunizations. The goal of our group is to cultivate a scientifically-aware population that can make informed vaccination decisions for themselves and their loved ones.
Educational Activities
We create educational materials using open data sources and data visualization to make science more accessible
Community Engagement
We host case series seminars, expert panel discussion, and journal clubs to foster more scientifically informed communities
Policy Initiatives
We lobby for legislation that supports evidence based medicine and help connect communities with local government
